Our 10th Season continues with Erato’s most intimate and stripped-down concert in years, featuring music for 3 and 4 voices, both A Cappella and with sparse instrumentation. We are very excited for you to hear the music on this program. It covers a diverse range of styles, from a gorgeous Monteverdi lament to a jazzy Milhaud scat symphony. From Absil’s absurdist bestiary to a contemporary tale of fleeting romance on a mountain hike by Richard Pearson Thomas. All wrapped up with RADIO SONGS by Vancouver composer David MacIntyre, featuring twelve songs in multiple styles and close harmonies for three singers, drawn from the last poetic works of legendary Canadian writer Robin Blaser. repertoire Claudio Monteverdi – Lamento della ninfa
Jean Absil – Zoo
Darius Milhaud – Petite Symphony No. 6
