“Future” examines what kind of music has us looking forward.

People have always wondered about what’s on the horizon. Erato honours that curiosity with historically groundbreaking works like Luciano Berio’s “Sequenza for Voice” and music by Canadian visionary Harry Somers. For a more contemporary view of where we’re headed, the program also includes works by trailblazing composers writing today, including Kaija Saariaho and Vancouver’s own Leslie Uyeda.

As always, Erato audiences can expect colourful combinations of voice and instrument, and carefully prepared artistry that speaks to a wide variety of interests. This concert will be sung entirely in english, giving audiences a real sense of connection to the music, no translations needed!
