Erato Ensemble: Call for Scores - BC Composers Concert
Deadline: August 31, 2012
Erato Ensemble invites BC composers to submit scores for our Season Opening concerts on November 3 & 4 in downtown Vancouver. Preference will be given to composers based in the Greater Vancouver area, but all composers from BC will be considered.
Compositions may be scored for 1 - 6 musicians, chosen from the following: Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano, Tenor, Baritone, Piano, Guitar, Flute, Violin, Cello, Saxophone. For vocal works, the text should be by a Canadian poet or writer. Preference given to pieces under 10 minutes.
Scores accepted electronically only - please email to eratoensemble@gmail.com. No age limit. No submission fee. Please indicate performance history of the piece, or if it would be a premiere. You may include any audio or visual clips as well if available. Scores not chosen for this concert will be considered for future performances.
In addition to the performances, we are planning a private first-reading session with the composers in attendance if possible, as well as a public workshop, both at the Canadian Music Centre in Vancouver.
